SMEC Urban – Cardinia Lakes
Smec Urban, Peet PTY and GRDC worked together in coming up with a number of structures for the Cardinia Lakes upgrade. The design and construct brief consisted of two boardwalks, one large viewing platform, one cantilevered shelter, one smaller custom BBQ shelter,
Each structure was designed specifically for each location, each posing the same modern contemporary appearance. All structures are built to the highest durability, and Australian Standards!
PRODUCTS: 18m large curved viewing platform consisted of:
- ACQ treated hardwood posts and caprail with ‘ARC’ willow panel infill handrail
- Spotted Gum hardwood decking boards
- Hardwood bearers and joists
- Treated pine driven piles to engineering specification
- Anti-vandal galvanised fixings and brackets
- All BA drawings and engineering certification
- Designed to the Australian access code
The cantilevered shelter consisted of:
- All steel roof members
- Hardwood battens to one side and colourbond other-side for roofing
- Hardwood posts and caprail with ‘ARC’ willow panel infill handrail
- Hardwood decking boards
- Hardwood bearers and joists
- Anti-vandal galvanised fixings and brackets
- All BA’s and engineering certification
- Full installation
- OH & S allowances
The boardwalk consisted of:
- LOSP treated pine joists and bearers
- In-situ footings
- ACQ treated hardwood decking
- ACQ treated hardwood handrail with ‘ARC’ willow infill panel
- ACQ treated hardwood kick rail
- Anti-vandal galvanised fixings and brackets
- Full onsite installation
- All BA’s drawings and engineering certification
